The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is a privately owned American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the largest MMA promotion company in the world and features some of the most popular fighters in the sport. The UFC was founded in 1993 by Dana White, Semaphore Entertainment Group, and Bob Meyrowitz. In 2001, it was purchased by Zuffa, LLC, a company owned by White and Lorenzo Fertitta. In 2016, Zuffa, LLC was sold to Endeavor, IMG, and TKO for over $4 billion. The UFC has over 1,600 employees and generates over $1 billion in annual revenue.
