USA Softball, a privately owned organization headquartered in the United States, is the National Governing Body of Softball in the country, a designation received from the United States Olympic Committee in 1978. Founded in 1933 as the Amateur Softball Association, the organization currently employs approximately 310 people and had revenues under $25 million in 2023. Its primary activity is the organization and oversight of spectator softball sports, achieved through a network of 70 local associations responsible for team registration and league management across the nation.
USA Softball announced a partnership with Trackman on an unspecified date, providing its national teams with access to ball tracking system technology. On June 13, 2024, a partnership between Friends of Hoyt Park and USA Softball of Michigan was announced, bringing major men’s softball championships back to Saginaw, Michigan. These championships will take place in July 2024 at Hoyt Park, featuring modified pitch, slow pitch, and fast pitch formats. Also, three members of the 2025 U-18 Women’s National Team—Aspen Boulware, Lilly “Goose” Goodwin, and McLaine Hudson—received Gatorade Player of the Year state honors and will compete in the WBSC U-18 World Cup Finals in Oklahoma City in September 2024.
