Vodafone Oman committed to standardizing its entire IT infrastructure on Red Hat’s cloud-native platform, with a roadmap to transition the majority of production workloads to Red Hat OpenShift by 2028, according to an April 12, 2026 report. This follows an April 9 announcement where the service provider specified a target of 100% production workloads on Red Hat OpenShift by 2028 to lower operational costs and drive 5G growth. Earlier, on April 8, the company reported achieving approximately 17% market share as it marked four years of operations in the Sultanate, driven by a 46% increase in its customer base and a 66% rise in net revenues in 2025 compared to 2024. Previously, on April 2, Vodafone Oman overhauled its Red, Black, and Black for Business mobile plans to reduce fragmentation, simplify customer choice, and better reflect evolving usage patterns, which the company noted included continuous mobile usage across communication, work, payments, and entertainment. The collaboration with Red Hat for digital transformation was initially announced during MWC on March 2, when Vodafone Oman stated it sought a stable, scalable environment for rapid service innovation while controlling operational costs.
