Employing approximately 3190 people, WDR contributes to the national television channel Das Erste and produces its own regional television service, WDR Fernsehen, along with six regional radio networks. It is a member of ARD, a consortium of German public broadcasting organizations. WDR's primary output is broadcast television and radio programming.
