Activision Blizzard, Inc. is an American publicly owned video game holding company headquartered in Santa Monica, California. Founded in July 2008 through the merger of Activision, Inc. and Vivendi Games, the company's primary business is consumer gaming. Activision Blizzard employs approximately 2030 people and includes Infinity Ward and Blizzard Entertainment as subsidiaries. It became a component of the S&P 500 Index in 2015 and is currently a subsidiary of Microsoft.
