Agencia de Gobierno Electronico y Sociedad de la Informacion y del Conocimiento, also known as AGESIC, is a State Owned entity based in Uruguay. Founded in 2005, it employs approximately 300 individuals. This specialized autonomous government agency functions directly under the Presidency of the Republic and is responsible for driving digital transformation, e-government strategy, and information society initiatives within Uruguay. Its core mandate involves modernizing public administration through the strategic integration of information and communication technologies (ICT). AGESIC establishes the national digital agenda, oversees cybersecurity frameworks, and pioneers data accessibility, contributing to Uruguay's standing in Latin America for digital government readiness.
