This vulnerability allows remote clients to crash servers with legitimate traffic due to a single variable error. Concurrently, the Law Offices of Howard G. Smith continue an investigation into Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. for potential violations of federal securities laws on behalf of investors. Earlier on the same day, Alibaba, alongside Baidu and Tencent, accessed American AI technology via Singapore, circumventing US export controls that do not geographically target the city-state, establishing Singapore as a pivotal hub in the global AI supply chain for otherwise restricted models. Additionally, Alibaba’s Qwen family of open-source AI models surpassed Meta’s Llama, achieving one billion cumulative downloads to become the world’s most widely used open-source AI framework. Previously, Alibaba Group Holding Limited and its U.S. payment processor, AUS Merchant Services Inc. (formerly Alipay US), agreed to pay $600 million to settle claims that, from January 2016 through December 2024, they failed for eight years to prevent the sale of dangerous drugs, chemicals, and pill presses to American customers. This resolution includes non-prosecution agreements.
