Cogeco Communications Inc., Breezeline's parent company, expects to record a $1.7-billion writedown related to its U.S. telecommunications division, announced on June 1, 2026. This writedown follows intensified competition from American rivals and revenue declines in recent years. Earlier on January 13, 2026, Cogeco Communications featured Breezeline as its American Telecommunications Segment in its T1-2026 investor presentation. Previously, on January 7, 2026, Wide Open West (WOW!) named Frank van der Post, a former Breezeline and KPN executive, as its new CEO, with van der Post taking over from retiring cable industry veteran Teresa Elder. This follows November 2025 reports where Breezeline Channel 26 broadcast city meetings in Rochester.
