Brisanet Telecomunicações is a privately owned Brazilian telecommunications company founded in 1998. Employing approximately 3,800 people, the company's headquarters are located in Brazil. Brisanet's primary service offering is pay television, although it also provides a range of other telecommunications services including 4G internet access, broadband internet, optical fiber connections, mobile telephony, and landline telephony.
Brisanet announced exceeding its 2024 operational targets, reaching 237 municipalities and 10.2 million people with 4G/5G coverage. However, the company will not release operational projections for 2025, citing a strategic shift. In Q4 2024, Brisanet reported a 93.2 percent year-on-year decline in net profit to BRL 4.5 million, despite an 18 percent revenue increase to BRL 382.2 million. This decrease resulted from a 20.8 percent increase in service costs, more than a doubling of the negative financial result to BRL 45 million, and a 40 percent increase in operating expenses. Geraldo Luciano Mattos Junior resigned from the board of directors and the Statutory Audit Committee; a replacement will be elected on April 24, 2025. Brisanet projects a 30% reduction in 2025 investments to 700 million reais (US$123 million), despite 5G network expansion.
