The channel's primary mission is to provide Dutch-language programming to Dutch and Flemish people living abroad. BVN's programming includes news, current affairs, documentaries, entertainment, and children's shows. The channel is available via satellite, cable, and online streaming. As of 2023, BVN has approximately 90 employees.
