Comedy Central, a privately owned pay TV service founded in 1991 and headquartered in the US, offers general entertainment programming. With a current employee count of 710, it is a subsidiary of Paramount TV Media and part of ViacomCBS Networks International.
Paramount, following its merger with Skydance, plans to revitalize its cable networks, including Comedy Central. A former Viacom executive predicted significant changes to Paramount within the next two years. Applications for a writing competition, judged by W. Bruce Cameron and Wendy Liebman, were open from September 2nd to October 6th. Beginning September 1st, Vodafone Spain removed seven channels from its pay-TV service, including Comedy Central.
