News Summary:

Filming began in Dublin on March 2024 for the third and final series of *The Dry*, a comedy-drama created by Nancy Harris and directed by Paddy Breathnach. Element Pictures produced this award-winning series. In February 2024, Galway City Council sought an operator for the Pálás Cinema, a venue previously part of Element Pictures’ Light House Cinema Group, following its closure. Rising costs, the impact of Covid, and market oversaturation were cited as reasons for the closure. Separately, Ed Guiney, co-CEO and founder of Element Pictures, participated in Screen International’s second annual film summit in an event featuring leading UK producers. Guiney also featured among high-profile film industry veterans at another film event.
