News Summary:

Element Pictures was commissioned on June 25, 2026, to produce the second series of the BBC thriller *Nightsleeper*, with the new action set on the Irish Sea. On June 21, the Dublin-based production company confirmed it would produce the new six-part series, scheduled to begin filming later this year in Belfast with support from Northern Ireland Screen. The first series, written by Nick Leather, debuted on the BBC in September 2024, becoming the broadcaster's biggest new drama launch of that year. Element Pictures’ recent credits include *Normal People*, *Poor Things*, and *The Dry*. This follows the BBC's June 19 commissioning of the second installment of *Nightsleeper* for BBC iPlayer and BBC One, with Element Pictures, a Fremantle company, named as the producer. Earlier, on June 18, the Galway Film Fleadh announced the world premiere of Element Pictures' film *The Lost Children of Tuam* at its 2026 festival. Directed by Frank Berry and written by Rebeca Lenkiewicz, the film draws inspiration from a 2017 New York Times article by Dan Barry.
