Global News, founded in 1994, is the news and current affairs division of Global Television Network. A privately owned entity, it operates broadcast television and radio services. Headquartered in Canada, Global News employs approximately 870 people and is ultimately owned by Corus Entertainment through its subsidiary, Global TV.
On April 4th, 2025, Global News reported on two separate investment agreements. ENEOS and Maersk committed $100 million to C2X's Beaver Lake Renewable Energy project in Louisiana. Separately, Mabanaft and HIF Global signed a Heads of Agreement for e-methanol offtake, aiming to increase e-methanol's use as marine fuel. Also on April 4th, 2025, Global News reported that the International Maritime Organization (IMO) expanded the data reference model within the IMO Compendium following the conclusion of the 49th meeting of its Facilitation Committee. A separate Global News report detailed ongoing efforts by Pacific States to include a GHG levy in a final agreement at MEPC 83, despite a recent compromise proposal omitting it. Finally, a Global News poll, released on an unspecified Sunday, showed the Liberals leading the Conservatives by double digits in the federal election campaign.
