Ice Hockey Australia (IHA), a privately owned organization founded in 1908, is the governing body for ice hockey in Australia. As of 2023, it employs approximately 30 people and is headquartered in Australia. The IHA oversees six state-level ice hockey associations and its primary activity is the administration and regulation of spectator ice hockey sports.
From May 2–4, 2025, the IIHF Learn to Play Seminar took place at the O’Brien Icehouse in Melbourne. On May 5, 2025, Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) announced Hamish Young as the first Australian to officiate at the OHL Cup. Also on May 14, 2025, IHA sought Expressions of Interest for head coach positions for the 2025 national men's programs (Under 18 Men, Under 20 Men, and National Men), for international tournaments in 2026. A national selection camp for the IHA Women’s Para Ice Hockey team, held in Newcastle from May 23–25, 2025, advanced their preparations for the World Para Ice Hockey Women’s World Championships in Dolný Kubín, Slovakia.
