The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is India's state-owned national space agency, established in 1969. Headquartered in Bangalore, India, ISRO employs approximately 3280 people. Its primary activities involve the design, development, and production of space-related technology and defense systems. ISRO operates under the Indian Department of Space, which reports directly to the Prime Minister.
On August 6, 2024, ISRO-NRSC and IIIT Hyderabad conducted an AI for Space Immersion Program for startup and student-research teams. The program aimed to encourage innovation in using artificial intelligence in the space sector. Later, on October 15, 2024, ISRO invited Tamboli Castings to participate in the 75th International Astronautical Congress in Milan, Italy, from October 14-18, 2024. Earlier in October 2024, the Indian government approved the reallocation of 687 MHz of spectrum from various ministries, including ISRO, to improve 5G and prepare for 6G services. Bajaj Allianz Life also organized a Plankathon event in Bengaluru on an unspecified date to celebrate ISRO's Chandrayaan and Aditya L1 missions.
