The National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Communication Information and Innovation (CII) supported KBC pensioners in a dispute concerning unremitted pension contributions and a legal fee claim. The CII also directed the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Judiciary to investigate suspected mismanagement within the KBC Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme. Parliament further questioned KBC regarding its failure to remit over Sh3.27 billion in staff deductions owed to the KBC Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme; by early 2018, Sh750 million in deductions had not been remitted. Separately, KBC partnered with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to conduct town hall conversations in Marsabit County to foster dialogue between generations and communities.
