The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation's (KBC) revamp effort gained momentum on April 20, 2026, as Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management Cyrell Wagunda met with the broadcaster’s Board of Directors. The meeting focused on accelerating reforms under the Government Owned Enterprise (GOE) framework. This followed a strategic consultative meeting on April 15, 2026, where the National Treasury engaged KBC leadership, including Board Chairperson Tom Mshindi and Managing Director Agnes Kalekye, to reposition the public broadcaster into a commercially viable and self-sustaining entity. Discussions explored asset utilization, financial restructuring, and diversified revenue streams to achieve this viability.
