News Summary:

Octopus Newsroom will present Octopus 13, its next-generation Newsroom Computer System (NRCS) designed for future news production, at the WABE 2026 Media & Entertainment Technology Conference on September 8. This follows the September 4 announcement of an integration between Octopus 13 and HighField | Cast, bringing AI-assisted graphics creation directly into newsroom workflows. This integration allows journalists and producers to create broadcast-ready graphics faster while working within existing media infrastructure. Previously, on August 28, the company discussed the Story Object Model (SOM), an open standard proposing a shared method for describing story context across multiple systems to close existing information gaps. Earlier, on August 26, Octopus Newsroom announced its participation in IBC 2026, where it plans to host informal "Octopus Customer Exchange" sessions, enabling broadcasters to directly discuss real-world uses of Octopus products.
