Avrotros, also known as Algemene Vereniging Radio Omroep and Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting, is a state-owned entity headquartered in the Netherlands. Founded in 2014 through the merger of AVRO and TROS, the company specializes in media managed services and employs approximately 510 individuals. Functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer, it reported $163.5M in revenue as of 2024. As a Dutch public broadcaster operating within the national NPO framework, its programming reflects this dual heritage, encompassing arts and culture alongside popular entertainment. The broadcaster is responsible for domestic content, including the reality-competition series Wie is de Mol? and the police drama Flikken Maastricht. Internationally, Avrotros manages the Netherlands' participation in and broadcast of the Eurovision Song Contest, handling both the selection of the national entry and the transmission of the event.
