News Summary:

Stacey West announced her departure as chief executive officer of Netball Australia on April 22, after spending more than two years in the role and 16 years with the governing body. She leaves following the securing of a new broadcast deal. Previously, on April 15, Nine Entertainment Co. secured a five-year partnership with Netball Australia for exclusive broadcast and streaming rights, extending until the end of 2031. This landmark agreement, effective January 1, 2027, brings the sport out from behind a paywall for the first time in five years and delivers the largest free-to-air footprint in Netball's history. The deal encompasses the top-tier Suncorp Super Netball league, all Australian Diamonds matches, and all 64 matches of the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027, where the Diamonds will defend their title on home soil. Netball Australia chair Liz Ellis confirmed the inclusion of these competitions, making the sport available on freeview television.
