World Netball, a privately owned organization headquartered in the UK, is the international governing body for the sport of netball. Founded in 1960 as the International Netball Federation (also known as the International Federation of Netball Associations), it currently employs approximately 20 people. World Netball's responsibilities include maintaining the official rules of the game, establishing world rankings, and organizing major competitions such as the Netball World Cup and netball events at the Commonwealth Games. As of 2023, it continues to oversee the global administration of the sport.
World Netball released updated world rankings, showing seven African national teams in the top 20. The organization announced that the Netball World Youth Cup 2025 will be available for free globally via NetballPass and the Netball World Cup YouTube channel, with competition running from September 19th to 28th. World Netball also announced updates to five officials' statuses, including two International Netball Umpire Award Testing Panel renewals and one new International Talent Identified Umpire status. A partnership between World Netball, Sport in Action, and the Wallace Group was announced to expand the Community Sport Hub Site model into new African countries. Finally, Fay Meiklejohn replaced Cheryl Danson as the Rules Advisory Panel Chair, effective at the end of August.
