NTR, a state-owned entity based in the Netherlands, founded in 2010 with approximately 690 employees, reported $108.0M in revenue as of 2024. The company specializes in content rights, operating as a national public-service broadcasting corporation. Headquartered at the Media Park in Hilversum, NTR was established through the merger of the Dutch Programme Foundation (NPS), the Television Academy (Teleac), and the Radio Volksuniversiteit (RVU). It operates under a statutory mandate from the Dutch Media Act as an independent, non-affiliated statutory foundation, tasked with delivering neutral, high-quality information, education, and culture to the national public broadcasting network (NPO). Its multi-genre content catalog includes children’s educational programs such as Het Klokhuis and Het Sinterklaasjournaal, the daily current affairs analysis program Nieuwsuur (co-produced alongside the NOS), the historical documentary franchise Het verhaal van Nederland, and the arts and documentary anthology Het Uur van de Wolf.
On June 10, 2026, NVRO Metals (Australia) Pty Ltd proposed to acquire all issued and outstanding shares of NTR for C$27.9 million. This proposed acquisition follows a creditor-approved deed of company arrangement executed on June 8, 2026, and coincides with the establishment of the NVRO Metals Hub in Australia’s Northern Territory. Previously, on April 24, 2026, the L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund III secured the Fair Oaks renewable energy park, a solar and battery storage project located in Nottinghamshire, England. Earlier, on April 16, 2026, NTR completed a circa €57 million debt refinancing with NordLB and AIB, strengthening the financing structure for its Taranis portfolio, which incorporates the 48.4MW Provencialis wind farm in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France.
