Tracing its origins as the Indonesian Volleyball Association to January 22, 1955, PBVSI functions as an official member of the FIVB (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball) and AVC (Asian Volleyball Confederation), primarily focusing on the development and advancement of volleyball sports throughout the country.
