On August 17, 2026, Philippine Volcanoes player James Halasan Ryan participated in Lamanan National High School's inaugural rugby clinic in Calinan District, Davao City, on August 1. Ryan introduced students to rugby fundamentals, including the backward pass and T1 Rugby principles, before joining them in scrimmages. Previously, on July 10, 2026, the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) announced its 37-player travelling squad and five management staff for the Unions Cup 2026, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 12–18, as the team aimed to defend its Unions Cup title.
