Founded in 2002 by Rob Feinstein, ROH was later acquired by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. As of 2023, the company employs approximately 30 people and its primary business is the staging of spectator wrestling events. Cary Silkin managed the promotion from 2004 to 2011 before its sale to Sinclair.
