On April 12, 2026, Supervising Animator Adam Sarophim from Sony Pictures Imageworks will present how performance-driven animation gets built at the studio, using work from "KPop Demon Hunters" and "GOAT," at FMX 2026. This follows former Texas A&M Visualization program student Clara Chan receiving a Visual Effects Society Award for her animation work on "KPop Demon Hunters" at the 24th annual VES Awards on March 17, 2026. Chan will make a virtual appearance at MSC Aggie Cinema’s Howdywood Film Festival to discuss her career and experiences in leading visual effects teams. Earlier, "KPop Demon Hunters" clinched the Oscar for Best Animated Film on March 16, 2026. A 500-member crew, which included Keralite engineers Kurian Onnunny Samuel Binku Mathews and Joseph Tom Neriamparambil, worked on the 1-hour-40-minute film at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver, Canada. The Oscar win was also celebrated by former Bournemouth University student Fernando Morillo, who graduated in 2014 with a Master’s in Visual Effects and was part of the Sony Pictures Imageworks team that worked on "KPop Demon Hunters," as reported on March 15, 2026.
