Sony Pictures Imageworks, a privately owned visual effects and animation studio founded in 1992, is a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Headquartered in Canada, it employs approximately 1360 people. Sony Pictures Imageworks unveiled a machine learning-based approach to creating light rigs at SIGGRAPH. On October 9 and 10, the company participated in Infinity Festival, held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and the Sony Pictures Imageworks Mid-Wilshire campus. Imageworks animators contributed to the Netflix series *KPop Demon Hunters*. In collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation and Yellowbrick, the company launched *This Is Animation*, a free online course on animation. Additionally, senior animator Chalermphol Wattanawongtrakool created a video tutorial on creating believable run cycles in 3D animation.
