Sony Sports Network, also known as Sony Pictures Sports Network and Sony TEN, is a privately owned entity headquartered in India. It is a subsidiary of Sony Group and Sony Pictures Networks (Culver Max Entertainment). Founded in 2002, the company employs approximately 130 individuals and reported $56.5M in revenue as of 2023. Functioning primarily as a provider of content rights, the network operates a group of Indian pay television sports channels. The original TEN Sports channel was established on April 1, 2002, by Abdul Rahman Bukhatir. It was acquired by Essel Group in 2010, leading to the launch of channels like TEN Cricket and TEN Golf, and the rebranding of Zee Sports as TEN Action. In August 2016, Sony Pictures Networks India acquired these sports channels from Essel. The networks formally merged with Sony's existing Sony ESPN and Sony Six channels in 2017, becoming Sony Pictures Sports Network, with the TEN channels rebranded as Sony TEN. In October 2022, the channels were rebranded as Sony Sports Network, with all five channels now carrying the "Sony Sports Ten" prefix.

News Summary:

On February 15, 2026, Sony Sports Network (part of Culver Max Entertainment, also known as Sony Pictures Network India or SPNI) finalized an agreement with FanCode to sub-license the linear TV rights for the Indian Super League (ISL). This arrangement, which became official hours before the truncated ISL season commenced, grants Sony exclusive TV broadcast rights for India and non-exclusive rights for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. This follows FanCode's earlier sub-licensing of the 2025–26 ISL season's linear TV coverage to SPNI, a move reported on February 11, 2026, just over a week after FanCode secured the broadcast rights. Previously, on February 10, 2026, Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV announced they would provide live and exclusive coverage of the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026.
