Sveriges Radio AB (also known as Radio Sweden or Swedish Radio) is Sweden's national public radio broadcaster, established in 1925. A state-owned public limited company, it operates under the governance of an independent foundation. Funding, previously derived from licensing fees set by the Swedish Riksdag, now comes from general taxation (since January 1, 2019). The company employs approximately 2360 people and had revenues under $500 million in 2024. Sveriges Radio broadcasts radio and television programming and does not accept advertising. Its organizational structure can be characterized as a quasi-autonomous non-governmental organization.
