TDC Erhverv identified 1,343 suspected security breaches at Danish companies and organizations in the second quarter of 2026, with its Q2 security report on August 13, 2026, noting that the ten-year-old Mirai malware accounted for 24.9% of these probable cyber incidents. Mirai's source code, published several years prior, has allowed malicious actors to develop and adapt the malware. Previously, on June 25, 2026, the telecom complaints board in Denmark rejected an appeal from TDC against a decision by the Competition and Consumer Authority. The board found that the decision not to market test a wholesale access commitment from TDC was a procedural matter and therefore not subject to appeal.
