Argentina's National Competition Authority (ANC) Competition Tribunal, on June 17, 2026, issued Resolution RESFC-2026-38-APN-TDC#ANC, formally approving Telecom Argentina S.A.’s acquisition of exclusive control over Telefónica Móviles Argentina S.A. and its subsidiaries. This approval is contingent upon compliance with a "Remedy Package" detailed in the resolution's Annex I, which includes mobile customer and spectrum divestitures and conduct remedies across wholesale and corporate markets. This resolution follows the Argentinian government's prior approval of Telefónica’s proposed sale to Telecom Argentina. That approval mandated Telecom divest portions of its radio spectrum and specific customers as a measure to prevent anti-competition within the market. Earlier, on June 18, 2026, the Tribunal de Defensa de la Competencia, also part of Argentina’s ANC, had conditionally cleared the acquisition of Telefónica Móviles Argentina by Telecom Argentina, pending a package of structural and behavioural remedies.
