Telia Sweden, also known as Telia Sverige, is a privately owned company headquartered in Sweden. Founded in 2003 and functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer, the company reported $3.4B in revenue as of 2024. A subsidiary of Nordic telecommunications conglomerate Telia Company, Telia Sweden specializes in telecoms and operates consumer TV services under the Telia brand.
Telia is investing half a billion kronor to expand and strengthen its mobile network in Sweden's rural areas, covering at least 17,000 square kilometers, as of November 27, 2025. This investment focuses on building new masts and improving mobile coverage where it is most needed. Earlier, on November 18, 2025, Telia Sweden announced its participation in the CyberInfra scheme, aiming to develop connected portable roadworks signage to improve traffic safety during roadworks. Other participants in the scheme include national research institute RISE, the Transport Administration (Trafikverket), state-owned civil engineering company Svevia, private company Sigma Technology Embedded Network, and Halmstad University. On the same day, Telia Sweden, alongside Net4Mobility (a joint network company of Tele2 and Telenor), won a bid in the PTS's auction for the 1,800 megahertz band, as confirmed by a PTS press release.
