Tennis Canada, a privately owned organization founded in 1890, is the national governing body for tennis in Canada. Employing approximately 360 people, it coordinates national tennis activities, including tournament organization in collaboration with provincial associations. Tennis Canada held three U15 Prospect Team development camps in various cities starting in late April, focusing on fundamental tennis skills and competitive training to prepare players for international competition. On Thursday, July 27, Tennis Canada announced that Halifax will host a Davis Cup World Group I tie against Israel on September 12-13 at the Scotiabank Centre, determining which country advances to the 2026 Davis Cup Qualifiers. Tennis Canada also announced that Dawn Staley, head coach of the University of South Carolina Women’s Basketball Team, will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 UNMATCHED: Gender Equity in Sports Conference in Toronto. Tennis Month in Canada, featuring over 100 registered events across the country, will take place throughout June, with more events expected to be added.
