On February 20, 2026, The University of Texas at Austin appointed Will Whiting as senior associate vice president and chief development officer for its academic health system and Dell Medical School. Whiting previously served as chief development officer and executive director for the university's McCombs School of Business, where he led one of its largest advancement teams. Also on February 20, the university announced plans to invest $19 million to build out and occupy 198,000 square feet of new space at 1900 University Avenue in Austin.
