On October 8, 2026, The University of Texas at Austin appointed Claudia Lucchinetti MD as executive vice president for medical affairs and the UT Dell Medicine Health System. Dr. Lucchinetti, a neurologist, will also continue serving as dean of Dell Medical School, overseeing the university’s medical enterprise. President Jim Davis, on October 7, commented that Dr. Lucchinetti possesses the vision, experience, and drive to establish UT Austin as a global leader in academic medicine by integrating patient care, research, and medical education. Earlier, on October 5, the McCombs School of Business hosted its Fall 2026 Career Expo, connecting students with Texas employers and featuring current alumni sharing their success stories with potential recruits. On the same day, the Wall Street for McCombs (WSFM) program celebrated its 10th anniversary in New York, an initiative that has opened career pathways for 600 of the school’s top finance students.
