The United States Auto Club (USAC) is a privately owned American motorsports and cycling sanctioning body headquartered in the United States. Founded in 1956, USAC sanctioned the United States National Championship from 1956 to 1979 and the Indianapolis 500 from 1956 to 1997. Currently, USAC sanctions several racing series, including the Silver Crown Series, National Sprint Car Series, National Midget Series, Ignite Ethanol Fuel Series, 25 Midget Series, and Traxxas TORC Series. With a workforce of approximately 50 employees, USAC plays a significant role in organizing and regulating motorsports events in the United States.
