On June 11, the company faced accusations of "gutting" regional newsrooms amid a fierce backlash over NBN job cuts, with at least six Newcastle presenters and four camera operators expected to depart by the end of the month. Media figures had criticized WIN Television's NBN News changes on June 3, following its takeover, which included axing weekend bulletins and replacing the traditional 6pm news with a pre-recorded 30-minute local bulletin at 5:30pm.
