The studio previously signed Julius Avery on July 16 to direct "Crush," a snake-themed survival thriller about a woman trapped by a giant python. The project's screenplay was written by John Fischer, Executive Vice President of Development and Production at Temple Hill Entertainment, after 20th Century Studios acquired it last year. This followed news from July 12 that Takashi Yamazaki, director of "Godzilla Minus One," is collaborating with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions on the new sci-fi thriller "Nue," which is set up at 20th Century Studios.
