News Summary:

SeaWorld announced on July 31, 2026, it will debut new haunted houses based on Sony Pictures’ horror film “I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch” at Howl-O-Scream events in Orlando, San Diego, and San Antonio, beginning September 11. Previously on the same day, Busch Gardens revealed two new haunted houses inspired by Sony Pictures' "Anaconda" for its Howl-O-Scream events in Tampa Bay and Williamsburg. Earlier on July 31, Supermal Karawaci launched a month-long immersive activation for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," celebrating Spider-Man Day and the film's release. Also on July 31, Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) reported a 13% drop in revenue for its latest quarter, with its TV unit seeing revenue decline by 32% to $571 million from $841 million year-over-year. The lower motion picture revenue stemmed from the studio releasing only one theatrical film in North America during the period, despite Crunchyroll continuing to grow its paid subscriber numbers. This followed news from July 31 that PUBG MOBILE partnered with Sony Pictures to release exclusive content from "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" as part of its Version 4.5 update, coinciding with the film's cinema release.
