European Fencing Confederation, a non-profit organization headquartered in Luxembourg, was founded on October 26, 1991. Initially established as “Union Européenne d’Escrime,” the entity was later renamed to its current English name. Its articles of confederation were passed in 2009.
On April 27, 2026, the 17th European Under 23 Fencing Championships in Cagliari concluded its third day, focusing on team events. Italy secured the gold medal in women’s épée on home soil, with a performance from Carola Maccagno, Gaia Caforio, Lucrezia Paulis, and Vittoria Siletti.
