European Fencing Confederation, a non-profit organization headquartered in Luxembourg, was founded on October 26, 1991. Initially established as “Union Européenne d’Escrime,” the entity was later renamed to its current English name. Its articles of confederation were passed in 2009.
On March 9, 2026, the Eurofence League Luxembourg’s Senior Épée competition saw Portugal secure a one-two finish in the men's event, with Miguel Frazao claiming gold ahead of compatriot Filipe Frazao.
