The International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the World Taekwondo Federation jointly approved the 2025 Daegu World University Taekwondo Festival, a G1-level event awarding Olympic ranking points, scheduled for July 5-8 in Daegu. FISU Secretary General Matthias Remund met with European University Sports Association counterpart Matjaž Pečnik to discuss the 2026 European Universities Games in Salerno. The Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games organising committee announced Bornan Sports Technology as the official Games Management System provider. From May 11-19, a FISU delegation visited the Chungcheong region in Korea, inspecting Games facilities and the FISU Games Village construction site; Chungcheong 2027 FISU World University Games Organising Committee President Changhee Kang announced the visit's successful conclusion on May 19. U SPORTS, the Canadian FISU representative, announced the Team Canada athletics roster for the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Summer World University Games.
