The International University Sports Federation (FISU), a non-profit organization founded in 1949 and headquartered in Switzerland, is the sole recognized governing body for international university sports. Employing approximately 170 people, FISU's primary activity is the organization and oversight of spectator sports competitions at the university level. In 2023, the organization's revenue was less than $100 million.
The International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the World Taekwondo Federation jointly approved the 2025 Daegu World University Taekwondo Festival, a G1-level event awarding Olympic ranking points, scheduled for July 5-8 in Daegu. From May 11-19, a FISU delegation visited the Chungcheong region in Korea, inspecting Games facilities and the FISU Games Village construction site; Chungcheong 2027 FISU World University Games Organising Committee President Changhee Kang announced the visit's successful conclusion on May 19. U SPORTS, the Canadian FISU representative, announced the Team Canada athletics roster for the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Summer World University Games.
