The International Hockey Federation (FIH), a privately owned organization headquartered in Switzerland, is the international governing body for hockey. Founded in 1924 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the FIH currently comprises 137 member National Associations. As of 2023, the FIH employs approximately 120 people and its primary activity is the oversight and administration of international hockey competitions and related activities.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) granted the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) an extension on Monday to decide on participation in the FIH Pro League. On June 13, the FIH announced the appointment of Mike Joyce as its new Director General. Joyce previously headed the Education and Development Department. A new partnership between the FIH and RSI Sports Group's Fikagear brand as an official FIH Academy Partner was announced on June 25. The FIH praised Pakistan's hockey team after it reached the FIH Hockey Nations Cup final on Friday, beating France 3-2 in a penalty shootout following a 3-3 draw.
