Muldoon, who moved into full-time coaching in 2023 as the Connacht representative in the IRFU’s Women’s National Talent Squad pathway staff, is a familiar figure in Connacht women’s rugby. This follows news from June 12 regarding Leinster winger James Lowe, whose two-year "1+1" contract, topped up by the IRFU and signed in March 2025, faced turmoil when the province chose not to activate the second year in late March 2026, despite earlier public assurances from Ireland coach Andy Farrell.
