On September 17, 2025, Mediavine's CEO and co-founder, Eric Hochberger, participated in a four-hour "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit's r/Blogging community. The session covered challenges facing independent publishers, including AI-driven traffic decreases and monetization strategies. Mediavine, representing over 17,000 independent digital publishers, sent a letter to the U.S. Copyright Office, urging stronger copyright protections in response to generative AI. A petition was circulated for creators and publishers to support this initiative. Mediavine also launched a Change.org petition to garner broader support for protecting creators from the misuse of copyrighted material and the rise of AI-generated content. Finally, Mediavine announced a partnership with NerdPress to offer its publishers assistance with WordPress site management, including speed optimization, updates, and uptime monitoring.
