Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), founded in 1967, is a state-owned broadcaster in Pakistan. Employing approximately 1410 people, PTV's primary function is the broadcast of television and radio programming. Its headquarters are located in Pakistan.
The federal government proposed eliminating the Rs. 35 monthly PTV surcharge on electricity bills for all consumers. A separate news story reported that Saud Shakeel, a Pakistan cricketer, was timed out during a President’s Trophy final match between the State Bank of Pakistan and PTV in Rawalpindi on an unspecified date. This marked Shakeel's first such dismissal and the seventh instance in first-class cricket history. The government also approved 28 major projects under the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
