RTVE and Mediapro acquired the Spanish broadcast rights to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. FIFA initiated a tender process in January 2025, with bids due February 18. On March 19, 2025, news outlets reported that RTVE and Mediapro secured the rights after a competitive bidding process. RTVE will pay €55 million for the rights to broadcast the tournament in the United States. Mediapro will have the ability to create a dedicated channel to sell rights to other platforms.
