On February 4, 2026, Rodeo FX, the visual effects studio behind Netflix’s "Stranger Things," was noted for its two-decade journey from a dim basement in Old Montreal to a modern office. Ara Khanikian, the company's visual effects supervisor, confirmed the studio experienced "really strong growth through the years." Earlier, on February 2, the studio confirmed it had just completed work on the latest season of "Stranger Things" and "Dune," establishing itself among leading special effects firms since its creation 20 years ago in a dark Montreal basement. Previously, on January 18, Rodeo FX shared a visual effects breakdown reel, detailing its contribution of 604 shots for Edgar Wright and Paramount Pictures’ film ‘The Running Man.’ This work included extensive use of traditional matte paintings and a complete reimagining of the Boston skyline.
