Türksat, incorporated as Türksat Satellite Communications Cable TV and Operations Incorporated, is a state-owned company and the sole communications satellite operator in Turkey. Established on December 21, 1990, in Gölbaşı, Ankara Province, it was initially known as Türksat Milli Haberleşme Uyduları. In 2004, it underwent a name change to Türksat A.Ş. and incorporated the satellite services of Türk Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. Türksat A.Ş. holds complete ownership of Eurasiasat S.A.M., a joint venture established with Aérospatiale in 1996 for the manufacturing and launch of Türksat 2A (Eurasiasat 1) in 2001. As of 2020, the company had approximately 1040 employees and generated around $50 million in revenue.
