News Summary:

United World Wrestling (UWW), alongside the Hungary Wrestling Federation (MBSZ) and the Hungarian University of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (HUSS/TF), signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 15, 2026, aimed at strengthening wrestling education, research, and international cooperation. Previously, on May 18, UWW signed an MoU with Smoothcomp AB to collaborate on event management systems, competition software, and digital solutions for UWW Associated Styles, including Grappling, Pankration, and Amateur MMA. This followed UWW's decision on May 15 to fully restore the rights of Russian and Belarusian athletes, permitting them to compete without restrictions across all age categories, including under their national flags at every level. Earlier, on May 10, United World Wrestling announced Las Vegas will host the 2027 Senior World Wrestling Championships from September 11-19 at the Thomas & Mack Center, serving as the first Olympic qualifier for the 2028 LA Games. In April, UWW donated wrestling mats to the Mauritius National Wrestling and Allied Games Association through its partner Taishan Sports, supporting the Olympic Solidarity/UWW Regional Development Program.
