On August 6, 2026, technicians performed routine maintenance on XLSMART's 5G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in Semarang, Central Java. This maintenance contributes to XLSMART's ongoing efforts to uphold the quality, capacity, and reliability of its network, which encompasses nearly 15,000 5G BTS units across Indonesia, supporting public communication and digital activities. Previously, on July 30, XLSMART, in collaboration with Huawei, China Mobile, China Unicom, and Mauritius Telecom, received the Outstanding Catalyst award for their IP Network Single-Domain Autonomy project at the 2026 Digital Transformation World summit. This followed ZTE's announcement on July 29 that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with XLSMART. The MoU expands their existing cooperation into AI-powered 5G networks and fixed wireless access (FWA, committing the companies to jointly develop end-to-end AI capabilities across XLSMART’s RANs, transport network, core network, and network operations. The agreement was signed during the MWC Shanghai 2026 event.
