The Americas Paralympic Committee (APC), a privately owned organization founded in 1979, serves as the regional governing body for Paralympic sport in North and South America. With a staff of approximately 10 employees headquartered in the US, the APC represents 33 National Paralympic Committees. Its primary function is the organization and oversight of the Parapan American Games, a multi-sport event held every four years preceding the Summer Paralympics. As of 2023, the APC continues to fulfill this role.
