Dorna Sports, a privately owned Spanish company founded in 1998, manages and markets spectator sports. Employing approximately 600 people, the company generated roughly $500 million in revenue in 2023. A subsidiary of Liberty Media, Dorna holds the exclusive commercial and television rights to the MotoGP World Championship series since 1992 and, since 2013, the Superbike World Championship.
Dorna Sports announced on Sunday, ahead of the San Marino Grand Prix, that MotoGP will continue racing at the Misano World Circuit until at least 2031. Separately, Dorna Sports and the FIM announced that the MotoE category is being put on hiatus due to insufficient traction after seven years. On Friday, a press conference at the Catalan Grand Prix confirmed that Herve Poncharal will hand over the Tech3 KTM MotoGP team to a consortium led by former Haas F1 boss Guenther Steiner, starting in 2026. Steiner reported that Dorna Sports gave him instructions regarding the takeover. On August 18, 2025, Liberty Media Corporation announced that Dorna Sports closed the refinancing and maturity extension of its first lien Term Loan B, first lien Term Loan A, and first lien revolving credit facility.
