The tournament officially opened on July 7, with the Dota 2 competition notably featuring Team Spirit’s Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov executing an Aegis steal on its first day, as part of a segment offering a $2 million prize pool. The Group Stage for Dota 2's tournament began earlier that day at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, initiating a thirteen-day race for prize money and Club Championship points.
